Varenna in the Italian province of Lecco, lies on the eastern shore of Lake Como. Across from Bellagio, Varenna is halfway along the Milan - Sondrio/Tirano railroad line.

Easily reached by car or train, Varenna is also accessible by water: by ferry from Menaggio, Cadenabbia or Bellagio, or by hydrofoil or boat from Como (direction: north) and from Colico (direction: south).
